DETROIT, MI – U.S. Senate candidate, Nasser Beydoun, released the statement below following the World Central Kitchen tragedy in Gaza:
“The loss of seven humanitarians from the World Central Kitchen is a tragic reminder of WCK’s vital role and the immense impact it has had in providing relief to those desperately in need in Gaza. Israel’s intentional targeting of the three separate WCK cars underscores their ongoing incitation of genocide and efforts to interfere with anyone providing aid. Such deliberate acts not only hinder efforts to alleviate suffering but also perpetuate the cycle of fatal starvation and famine.
Asking the same people who lied — who said oops it was an accident, who have been murdering innocent men, women and children for years, who are actively disregarding the holiest of Islamic and Christian months — to hold an independent investigation of this tragedy does nothing. It stands for nothing. And it’s clear Israel will stop at nothing.
The people of Palestine and the humanitarians that stand with them deserve so much more. My heart goes out to the families of the WCK victims as well as all who continue to be impacted by the atrocities happening in Gaza.”
